The point is good for all wind directions, the swim beach is great for kids/beginners, and the boat ramp area is good for beginners on a south or east wind. The park is a good street sailing location also, with light traffic and access in multiple wind directions. Plenty of islands, points, and places to explore by board or kayak. Remember, however, Lake Lewisville does have a bad reputation for reckless power boaters, so be careful of the boats going in and out of Pier 121 Marina. Sailboard PointSailboard Point is on the west side of Lake Lewisville, just before Hobie Point and west of the dam wall. Directions:From 35N East: · Take 35N to the Justin exit · Turn right (East) · Turn left (North) at the soccer fields/convenience store and follow the road into the park. Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club (DCYC)Typically each July the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club hosts a Learn to Windsurf day and an overnight campout event for the NTWR. The overnight camp is fun and they have a pool they let us use when it's hot. They also have an on-line weather station at the yacht club if you want to get the current weather conditions. |
